How: Watch my video explaining how to pick and cut avocados here!!!
No time to watch, fine 🙂 Pick an avocado that’s not too dark in color and not too mushy either. If you’re not using it the day of buying, go for one that’s a little more green than brown. (You should really watch the video lol). Once you select the perfect one, which you probably won’t do on your first go round (just buy 2 or 3 like me), you’re ready to cut.
To dice: Cut it lengthwise, leaving 2 halves. Score (cut straight lines down the avocado and then across without slicing the skin), then scoop out the contents. On the remaining half with the pit, whack at the pit and gently remove OR if you’re like me and too scared to do that, gently scoop the pit out with a spoon.
To slice: Cut it lengthwise, leaving 2 halves. Scoop around the entire avocado, separating the contents from the skin. Flip avocado upside down and slice!
