#HealthyTipTuesday: Embrace the poop & ditch the chemicals!

For me, having an infant means mess on top of mess! And unfortunately, I must admit that I haven’t quite mastered the “keeper of the home” concept. The good thing is that I haven’t given up and neither has my loving and patient husband, Austin.

Each day is another opportunity to do better… Really for things to get messed up again (Rolls eyes) Ok, that’s enough of my rant.

Today I’d like to hone in on a specific type of mess: POOP!

With 3 little people running around here, I deal with more than my fair share 😦 especially with my almost 3 month old, Caelyn. It seems like she has blowouts everyday and I really don’t understand how or why. But I do know that unlike the other items in the house, I’ve mastered cleaning it up. I just use water, baking soda and vinegar!

As much as I’d like to be super health conscious with every aspect of life, cleaning supplies are probably last on my list. With the other 2 kids I used this fabulous stain remover made by OxiClean. It worked SO well, however it seems like I was always running out of it!

Well out of desperation one day, I gave baking soda and vinegar a try and it WORKED! I rinsed the contents off first (in this case the culprit was the yellow, seedy, breastmilk poop), then I poured a little vinegar over the area (sorry I don’t have exact measurements, busy #momlife doesn’t allow that), and then I sprinkled a little baking soda over it, let it sit (honestly, I usually forget about it for half the day smh), and then I scrubbed and rinsed.

Yep, that simple!

HTT- Ditch the chemicals

As you can see in the picture, these items came from the dollar store and I usually only spend about $2 on both vs the $4 for the OxiClean.

Alright, you’re welcome! 🙂

(Sniffs around…) Gotta go, pretty sure someone just pooped again!

Oh, and if you don’t have the great pleasure of cleaning poop all day, I’m sure this technique will work on any fresh stain.
