Farm Trip & Arden’s Garden w/ Special Guest!

Last week, we took a quick trip to The Metro Atlanta Urban Farm in College Park and this time was special because we brought someone else along…

  • Someone who encourages us to persevere through our healthy journey…
  • Someone who loads our vitamin containers up and sends us home with no excuses lol…
  • Someone who is a constant example for nourishing the temple that God blessed us with…
  • And someone who loves us enough to lace up her tennis shoes and spend the day outside with us…

That person is…. GG, my mother-in-law! 🙂  The kids were so happy to see her pull up and get out of the car!

During our visit, we toured the farm, talked with our friends, and even heard the history of the farm from the CEO, Mr. Bobby, followed by a quick gardening lesson.

What I appreciate most about the entire staff is their helpfulness!  We didn’t have a reservation or any type of appointment (because we’re allergic to planning ahead lol) and they still took the time to stop what they were doing and talked to us.

I just love this picture of her enjoying her peas while she takes in the scenery!

He thought this was his and decided to do Mr. Bobby a favor and mow the lawn.

So this is where all of those compost scraps go that I bring from home?

And over time, it turns into this!

Now this was super exciting! A new solar panel that will power the ENTIRE farm!

That’s kale!

We can’t wait to start our own gardens at home!

Go experience the farm for yourself, I promise you’ll enjoy it!

Monday-Friday 9-5pm

I know, I know, I’m super late with this one.  The thing is, we always make our own juices and smoothies at home and rarely want to spend money out on those things.  But it was nice to be waited on for a change and did I mention that it’s walking distance from the farm?

I ordered a kids spinach slam for Camden with spinach, pineapples, and mangoes.

Of course he had to find snacks too.  Lucky for him, GG was there and shared sweet potato chips with him because mommy would have said NO! Lol.

#FreezerGoals One day!

Opposite the snacks was a bookshelf filled with books like this. I already have Dr. Fuhrman’s book, Disease Proof Your Child and I can’t wait to purchase this one next.

And that concluded our day! We all went home a little more peaceful, full, and healthier than we came! 🙂

Hope you enjoyed last week’s field trip recap. Until next time…
