As a stay at home mom things can get a little monotonous at times and everybody just needs a break from the house. Thankfully, we’re able to retreat to our local library once a week for Babytime! It’s 50 minutes of fun for the kiddos and 50 minutes of downtime for me. Although it’s really for ages 0-12 months Camden enjoys himself just as much as the babies do!
I stumbled upon Babytime last year after talking with one of the grandmas at the library. It’s held every Wednesday, September through April and is always well worth the trip. We miss it so much during the summer months!
It starts with the children playing with push toys and reading books and then transitions into the schedule which is a combination of songs, stories, and chants led by two energetic librarians (oxymoron I know lol). So far we’ve only been late to 4 out of 6 smh! Everyone always gives me kudos just for getting there with 2 in tow.
Here are pictures and video of Camden being Camden and Cadence enjoying her library debut.
I encourage you to check out your local library’s schedule of events. Many have pre-planned activities for children of all ages and/or homeschoolers. They even have family programs like movie nights and mini-festivals for the entire family.
I’ve included a few resources from Babytime, courtesy of the wonderful ladies at our library.
Also, here’s a full list of the local libraries in the metro Atlanta area and their upcoming events.
